Welcome to Veritas Model United Nations 2024!

Veritas MUN is an online MUN that aims to reach people all across the world and engage them in engrossing discussions and debates through carefully crafted conferences including opening and closing ceremonies, an experienced executive board, as well as certificates of honour. At Veritas, we are dedicated to fostering a platform that values open discourse and critical thinking. We aspire to cultivate a community of passionate and informed global citizens who are committed to making a positive impact around the globe. Our organization encourages participants to question assumptions, seek pragmatic solutions, and approach global challenges with a discerning mind. We cater to the experience of all demographics– be it the beginners who require additional assistance or expert delegates who wish for further challenges.

Committees and Agendas

Verizon Model United Nations has the following committees for participation of delegates:

CCC

In a continuous crisis committee, the “agenda,” per say, is a crisis, and that crisis is uncovered in the committee session itself. There are multiple updates in a crisis, and the delegates must, to the best of their abilities, work around and these updates to potentially find a solution and/or explanation to the possibly bizarre situation they have been presented with. Expect nothing, accept everything! It’s a spontaneous, impromptu committee, and a sharp mind can go a long way here! At Cold Case Cabinet, the portfolios will be allotted as members for an Investigation Team and Representatives of people involved. Updates and clues will be revealed providing the delegates with enough knowledge to fill in the gaps and come up with their own version of events. As the crises unfold, let the mystery be solved!

UNGA

The Agenda of the UNGA is Deliberation on the deployment of private military companies and security operations in armed conflicts for this conference. United Nations General Assembly is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations, serving as its main deliberative, policymaking, and representative organ. The UNGA is responsible for the UN budget, appointing the non-permanent members to the Security Council, appointing the UN secretary-general, receiving reports from other parts of the UN system, and making recommendations through resolutions. It also establishes numerous subsidiary organs to advance or assist in its broad mandate.

UNW

The Agenda of the UNW is Discussion on the empowerment of women in politics and parliamentary positions with special emphasis on the MENA region for this committee. UN Women is the global champion for gender equality, working to develop and uphold standards and create an environment in which every woman and girl can practice their rights freely and feel equality. In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. In doing so, UN Member States took an historic step in accelerating the Organization’s goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women.

UEFA

The Agenda of UEFA is Deliberation upon should UEFA support or oppose Super League for this committee. The Union of European Football Associations is one of six continental bodies of governance in association football.UEFA aims to promote a football culture, which is inclusive to all, regarded with respect and the highest ethical standards. Their strategy consists of promoting and developing football infrastructure across Europe, and ensuring football in Europe is accessible to all.

MOM

With the Agenda as Adressing the rise of Dark Arts, the MOM (Ministry of Magic) is a Continuous Crisis Committee based on Harry Potter. The official Ministry which regulates the region of Wizards and Witches! Inviting the ones who have the magic within themselves!

IPC

Media shape narratives, influence perceptions, and guide opinions. With this great power, comes the need for responsible reporting. Delegates will be tasked to report committee proceedings, analyse the debates, and present their comprehension of the same through any medium of their choosing- vibrant art, perceptive photographs, or the vivid tapestry of their words.
